Robert is very driven individual with great attention to detail, his design work is inspiring yet practical at the same time. He has many skills that would benefit any company, his knowledge of lighting has grown over the years with the introduction of LED. Robert also has a vast knowledge of production methods including injection moulding, die casting and 3D printing to name a few. His design capability is not only limited to the screen, his hand drawing and sketching is something to be seen. I’ve worked indirectly for over a decade with Rob, and in his new role I’ve now had the good fortune to work directly with him on the R&D of a range of varied products. Throughout all these projects his industry insight and wide-ranging skill set has made the whole process a real productive and creative pleasure.
I have worked with Rob since 2015 in his capacity as New Product Design Manager. Rob has a keen eagerness to better himself and broaden his understanding of Lighting and the Lighting Industry – incorporating this knowledge into his designs. His team look up to him as a genuine and reliable leader, this goes a long way to getting projects finished in a timely manner.

I worked directly under Rob for around three years and indirectly for one year. When not working directly under Robs management, I watched from the outside on how he helped his team members develop professionally, and personally. It was these displays of professionalism and genuine concern for his staff’s wellbeing and career progression that convinced me to apply for a position under Robs management, its safe to say I did not regret it. Working under Rob was nothing but a pleasure. The New Product Integration process that Rob helped create / implement, formed a detail set of signoff milestones which were designed to develop ideas from concepts, through to finalised products which are ready for sale. This process was thorough, clear and extremely easy for his designers to follow.
I’ve worked with Rob for a number of years now, He’s always quick off the Mark with any Designs no matter how complex’s big or small, Unlike other designers I’ve worked with he’s always coming up with different ways and more suitable options to make the design work the way I require without compromising the finished product, Not only is he a great designer he’s also very knowledgeable in regards to internal assembly requirements
Working with Rob was a great experience. His direction and leadership as the NPD manager at Martech, helped my progression through the business and allowed for my projects to excel. Rob has a wealth of knowledge in manufacturing, lighting and product design from initial idea to a finished product. There was always an enthusiastic atmosphere within the NPD team, which encouraged and motivated us to perform at our best. As a manager, mentor and also as a friend, Rob was a pleasure to work with.
Rob was a great manager who has enough experience to help and develop any design team. Rob works hard to develop individuals in his team. He has been very good at managing his teams workload so that they do not become stressed or over worked. I hope to work again with him in the future.
